Yoga for Everyone

My goal is to provide a safe and accessible place for people of all shapes, sizes and abilities to practice yoga in a body positive and supported environment. Using creativity, props, and mindful sequencing to meet students’ unique needs, my intention is to welcome everybody to explore the practice of yoga and meet y’all where ever you are at.

Curvy Yoga

Curvy Yoga, either individual or group classes, are offered as a safe space to explore the practice of yoga through adapting poses to fit your body, permission based language and an opportunity to connect (or reconnect) with your own body, in your own unique way.

If you are unsure how yoga might work for you, know that these classes provide prop suggestions, pacing that feels right for you and a lot of time to try out a variety of suggestions. Elisabeth tries to bring humor and ease to what might other be an intimidating practice.

For more info and to schedule a session please contact.

Elisabeth completed the 200-hour Curvy Yoga Teacher training in 2013.

Trauma Sensitive Yoga

Guided from a place of permission, these classes offer space for each student to explore movement and breath on their own terms. TSY is a tool for a variety of people, whether someone has experienced vicarious or secondary trauma, are first responders or health care professionals, folks participating in EDT, or are recovering from substance abuse, survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence to name a few.

Trauma sensitive yoga sessions are available in a one on one setting, as well as in small groups. Sessions are taught to beginners or more experienced yogis, often times in mixed level classes in group home or congregant living settings.

For more information please contact me.

Elisabeth has been certified by Firefly Yoga International and has over 2000 hours of teaching experience for these populations.

Breathe.

Stepping on to the mat, either by walking in to a class or logging in online, is often the hardest part of the practice. My goal is to make your journey on to the mat one that is inclusive, supportive, and joyful.

Discover a practice for everyone

“May I greet myself with gentleness,

May I soften when life invites me to harden.

May I listen to my intution with wisdom and trust it with ease,

and may I appreciate my whole body ~ my whole self

more in this moment, just as I am.”

– Anna Guest-Jelley (Curvy Yoga founder)

Who am I? How did I get here?

Elisabeth

I began practicing as a very reluctant yogi in my early 40s. Inflexible (in more ways than one), in a round, uncoordinated body, I found my way in to a class with an invitation from friends and slowly started to enjoy time spent moving and breathing.

For the first time in my life I felt connected to my body, but struggled to keep up with the group and felt lost in many poses. My journey to teaching started by trying to find someone to help me in my own personal practice.

In addition to my family, my greatest joy comes from having the opportunity to create space where others can learn the joys and the benefits of yoga for themselves.
